Milo Suchomel Quartet (Slovakia)
MiloSuchomel was born in 1976 and is one of the prominent personalitiesof Slovak Jazz.
His professional path in music was nurtured at the Zilina Conservatory, continues at the Bratislava Conservatory andUniversity of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He played in severalgroups and collaborated with important Slovak and international musicians.
In 2001 Suchomel receives The Best Instrumentalist Award at the Jazz Juniors in Krakow Festival in Poland. In2003 was formed Milo Suchomel Quartet from Tomas Baros – a fewyears ago just a student at the Conservatory in Prague and StefanBartus – double bass, Klaudius Kovac – ranks among the best Slovak pianists, appeared with the singer Lee Anderson in LatinAmerica, Marian
Sevcik – one of the top Slovak drummers and Milo Suchomel - tenor saxophone.
Together they made successful appearances on European stages and in 2004 Milo Suchomel Quartetended on fourth place at the prestigious international ContestHeilaart, Belgum. Their debut album is a record of Live concert appearance at the Bratislava Jazz Days in 2003. The music language of Milo Suchomel fuses two elements: the original Afro– American style and contemporary European trends. Their interaction results in a peculiar undulation between emotion and intellect.
